It’s always tragic to hear about the loss of a fellow racer. It’s so much harder when that someone played such a huge part in the culture.
On the night of August 6th or the morning of August 7th around 2am in a gas station crowded with spectators, 20 shots ring out, spectators, racers, everyone flees. Later to find out that “Mexican Rob” Was killed while leaning on his motorcycle.
I didn’t know the man personally, only spoke to him a few times over the years. I can say that he was always surrounded by people that looked up to and loved him and his name will never be forgotten in the racing community!
May you Race in Peace Mexican Rob!!!
